Who are we?
West Texas Parkinsonism Society , Lubbock Texas  was started as a support group in 1982 in order to reach
out to anyone affected by Parkinson's Disease. WTPS voted two years later to become and American Parkinson's
Disease Association chapter and participate in the annual APDA Walk-A-Thon for research. Now there is at least
one annual local fund-raiser to support educational programs and other chapter activities.

Visitors are welcome at the monthly meetings, which are held at 12:00 noon on the first Tuesday of each month.
Meetings usually feature a speaker, refreshments and plenty of time to visit. There are no dues-

The bi-monthly newsletter for WTPS is our method of
providing current information regarding the activities
related to the organization.  Also, articles on research
being conducted on medications, new drugs released for
patient use and information for caregiver assistance will
be available.   Articles from our readers in the Panhandle,
South Plains, West Texas and Eastern New Mexico are
always welcomed and encouraged.
