YOU ARE NOT
ALONE!
WTPS Support Group-
Why should I attend a support group?
A support group can be an important asset in your survival. A lot can happen when a
group of determined people rally around one uniting cause. In addition to sharing their
experiences with you, members of support groups can often teach you about services
available in the community. People in support groups stay well informed on the newest
and best treatments.
Support Group Meetings are the 1st Tuesday of each month at 12:00 noon
At the Calvert Home Health Care, 10207 Indiana Avenue (near Kohl's)

WTPS Water Classes-
Why do I need exercise? "USE IT OR LOSE IT"
Water exercise is offered to the Parkinson's Patient as an effort to
maintain overall health in a safe environment. Water exercise will assist
with range of motion and increase functional strength and flexibility. The
gentleness and warmth of the water relaxes and lengthens muscles,
reducing the pain and dystonia often associated with Parkinson's
Disease.
The positive effects of aquatic exercise are long lasting, providing benefits
during the patient's normal daily routine. Aquatic exercise also
decreases isolation and depression improving the overall well being of
the patient. Contact the WTPS Office
Swim exercise class at 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
at the LifeStyles Centre.

WTPS Yoga Classes- Why do I need Yoga?
Yoga is a complex discipline practiced in India for over 5,000 years. The aspects of yoga that have been broadly embraced in recent years primarily focus on the physical postures, which are called "asanas". Some of the potential benefits of yoga include improved strength and flexibility, stress reduction, and often a sense of psychological well-being. Most of the research on the health benefits of yoga has been done in India and has been directed towards conditions such as asthma, stress, and epilepsy. Within the next few years, there are sure to be studies completed in Parkinson's disease as well. There are many different styles of yoga choosing the one that is right for an individual may require some investigation.
Yoga classes take place on Wednesday at 2:00 at the Hodges Community Center located at 48th and University.
